The Vagal MethodVagal Tone Breath Test

You don't find calm. You return to it.

This 90-second breath test shows you how fast you return right now. Not a verdict. A starting line.

What's your vagal tone?

It measures your CO₂ tolerance and breathing efficiency, a direct proxy for vagal health, nervous-system regulation, and stress resilience.

First, sit comfortably with a tall, straight back. Please don't take this while driving, standing, or in water.

How it works

1Follow along: breathe in for 5 seconds, out for 5 seconds, five relaxed breaths.
2After the last exhale, pinch your nose and start the timer.
3Tap stop at your first urge to breathe.
4Get your Vagal Tone Score + what to do next.

⚠️ This is not a breath-holding competition. Stop at the first sign of air hunger, not when you can no longer breathe.
